Weird Cravings And Junk

Sorry this is the old blog and only serves as backup purposes. Comments were not working so  I had to start a new blog and port everything over.  Check us out at http://www.wcaj.com and keepup to date.  Thanks for looking.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all it's hard to see but at the very bottom left it says "X comments".  Clicking on the link where it says "X comments" will bring up the dialog box and form that will allow you to post comments (feedback). "X"being the number of comments posted so far.  Sorry It took so long to figure out what is wrong with the system.  Not sure what happened.  Anyhow it works now.  So on to the story.

We all get them.  It's that 3am craving you get for ice cream or something super sweet.  But sadly it is not the end of the world.  There are ways to curb the cravings.  We are going to go over them today.  I'm not saying any of this works (because I don't wan't to be a hypocrite).  Well may the hippo part if I keep getting cravings for junk and what not.  But definitely not a crit what ever that means.

The thing is that everybody is different.  Surprisingly there is not enough scientific evidence to support how everything works and who is who even with our vast technology today.  There was a study done on the internet (can't remember the link, but many similar exists.) saying 2 or 3 eggs a day don't increase cholesterol.  So 2/3 of the country can have 2 or 3 eggs a day and be happy.  That's great news for the people studied.  But what about the other 1/3 of the country who have to watch what they eat and exercise everyday.  So there is no way to know what works and what doesn't.  What works for you may not work your friend and visa versa.  But some general guide lines apply to everyone.

1.  A lot of websites are saying protein is very important.  Protein helps you loose weight and keeps you full longer so you don't snack.  I even saw it on dr oz many times saying increase protein.  But he doesn't like having his name attached to products he doesn't support or endorse.  So we won't mention his name anymore.

2.  Fiber also has a similar affect.  Just be sure to drink plenty of water.  water binds the fiber to the bad stuff and helps flush it out of your body.  Also soluable fiber is the best as it helps improve cholesterol and increase HDL.  3 to 5 grams a day should be good enough for most people.  And 20 to 30 overall including insoluble fiber which helps keep you regular.  It is easy to obtain this much from whole grains and other sources.

3.  There is an app on the iphone called fat booth.  Install that and you will be scared shitless.  It will show you what you look like if you gain too many pounds.  You will never eat anything deep fried again as long as you live.

4.  Eat more fruit and less candy.  Sugar in fruit is different from candy, etc according to wikihow.

"The sugars in fruits are digested differently than normal table sugar or sugar in candy and processed foods, mainly because table or processed sugar contains about 50% fructose, which is difficult for your liver to metabolize.[6] Fruits contain fiber, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and good phytonutrients, all of which help counteract the bad metabolic effects of fructose and glucose.[6] The fiber in fruit also slows the absorption of the sugars so you don't get as high of a sugar rush (and as low of a crash)."

5.  Get plenty of sleep.  As indicated by womens health magazine people who got more sleep are less likely to snack.

6.  According to this brushing your teeth tricks your brain into thinking you ate something sweet.  Well honestly I've never felt it before and I brush all the time.
